Dee Atkinson & Harrison’s forthcoming Antique and Fine Arts Auction takes place on Friday 25th April and will contain nearly five hundred lots. The sale starts at 9:45am and will be a live online auction inviting bids from all over the world. The first specialist section is silver and silver plate extending to almost fifty lots led by a 1791 lidded quart tankard by the famous Bateman family of silversmiths estimated at £700 to £800. There are three tea sets dating from the first half of the twentieth century expected to realise £320 to £650 and a good selection of flatware, condiments, candlesticks, vinaigrettes, toast racks, etc, as well as novelty items such as buttons, a hunting horn, travelling hair tongs heater, etc. It is rare to find a piece of York hallmarked silver and this auction has three – a 1789 sugar basket at £300 to £400 and a pair of 1821 table spoons, offered with two others at £150 to £200.
